Tank Goddess

Filed under: Clothing, Outfits, Tops — Sabrina Doolittle @ 9:00 pm

A few weeks ago, I was complaining to Salome, saying “Can we get Linden Labs to just declare a moratorium on camisols? I mean, how many frggin’ camisols does one game need?” By and large, strappy tops in SL are all much of a muchness - they’re black and basic or pastel and floaty, and while I may own 20 of them, there are probably 2,000 out there and they all look alike.

That is why I was overjoyed to fall into Trinity Cole’s Moon Goddess Designs, a little shop that specialises in kick-ass tank tops. This is the totally excellent SkullArt tank, which comes with an optional matching prim collar:

I am teaming this funky and fabulous top with the red buckle Jeepers Creepers from earlier, and it all looks pretty damn tasty together. In other excellent tank top news, there’s also this lucious velvet and mesh number:

Technically, there should be nipples showing there somewhere so I suspect the mesh may not be transparent but rather overlayed on a pale skin tone. Either way, it’s very pretty and sexy and I like it.

Trinity also does a few pieces of unusual party and club wear, including dresses and fun outfits like this:

I love the little capri pants - so cute and sassy. The top also has a healthy serving of sass going on - not to harp on this topic, but I’m pretty sure those are my nipple peeking out over the top. Naughty but oh so nice.

Happy Birthday, WENCH

Filed under: Hints & Tips — Salome Strangelove @ 6:36 pm

So, it was likely a sign of the apocalypse that flew under the radar at the time, but Sabrina and I were born same month, same year. I am older than by approximately *cough* days (don’t think that hasn’t been brought up more than once over the last 10 years).

As luck would have it, however, those erm … few days are enough to mean that while I remain a hard-headed, screeching banshee of a stereotypical cardinal Aries, she’s a much stabler mother-earth goddess of a fixed Taurus (I’m guessing here, I really have no idea what the traits of a Taurus are — I know it’s an Earth sign, but these things are usually broad and sweeping enough to include whatever you want them to, so just go with it).

Case in point: For my birthday, ever-thoughtful mommy-nature Bri had my present picked out way in advance, blogged about it, and was Jill on the spot. Yes — she’s the type of woman who hosts dinner parties that look like the photos in the magazines, too. In contrast, I once fell asleep with a frozen pizza in the oven and the fire department showing up was all that woke me (safety tip: don’t buy a smoke detector that automatically triggers emergency response; it might sound like a good idea, but it’s not).

But if you’re more like burnt-pizza me there is hope for you to get away with SEEMING like pictures-in-a-magazine Sabrina.

No idea what to buy your favorite wench and don’t really spend time in advance ever buying anyone anything? Two words — say it with me, kids — GIFT CERTIFICATES.

Most SL stores have them nowadays and if they don’t, a quick IM to a store owner will likely take care of it. And then all you have to do is rezz a prim, pop them in, and texture it with some cute wrapping paper:

Jeepers Creepers!

Filed under: Clothing, Men, Shoes — Sabrina Doolittle @ 12:10 am

You pretty much know you’re going to have to love a designer named eponymous trenchmouth, but when she makes excellent shoes like these funky detailed Jeepers Creepers, it’s a done deal:

jeepers1

These shoes come in about a million prints for both men and women. I like the red buckles and cheetah tie-ups the best, but apparently the plain black Doc-like variety is the best seller:

The shape on these shoes is just absolutely perfect, and the details are amazing. (Do you see the tags? How cute are those?) Most prints are available in both the buckle and tie up styles; they were originally designed as men’s shoes but eponymous added a women’s line a while back and many (but not all) styles can be bought in the chick version.

Funktastic, I say.

Triple Cherry Retro Rama

Filed under: Clothing, Dresses — Salome Strangelove @ 8:16 pm

Another cute little find from a small store. Meet the Triple Cherry Swing Dress from Retro-Rama.

triple cherry2

A delightful vintage summer dress that practically hums “Que Sera, Sera” all by itself. The pattern is tres jolie and goes swell with ETD’s Hollywood Glam hair (shown here with my edits).

It’s just too cute. And, let’s face it, everyone needs a little Donna Reed in their closet. The skirt is also cut nicely and the shape of the dress is flattering in a light, crisp, cool way.
