One in a Million

Filed under: Clothing, Jewelry, Wedding — Sabrina Doolittle @ 9:04 pm

My affection for jewellery is so freakin’ schitzophenic. For rockin’, original, funky goodness, I’m all about Shiny Things. For classic family jewels, however, I am totally Elexor Matador’s bee-yatch. Show me the shiny, honey.

He’s really pushed the boat out on the shiny with his latest creation, though, the Amelia ring:

amelia ring

This is a limited edition ring, just 10 copies, and it comes in a gorgeous box with both the gold and the platinum versions. The side stones are texture change on command, so you can match your clothing with amethyst, aquamarine, blue topaz, diamond, emerald, gold, light amethyst, onyx, opal, pink garnet, purple topaz, ruby and sapphire.

amelia

This ring is one chunky monkey and it really stands out, even in the most subtle combination of gold and light pink stones.

One the one hand, yes it is $15,000L. On the other hand, it’s a very, very limited edition with a lifetime guarantee, and frankly if I had a SL partner, and he or she proposed to me with a 15K ring, I’d be blown out of the water. There’s nothing like dropping some fairly serious real life cash to prove your SL love.

Well, there’s nothing like it if you’re as shallow as I am. “Because I’m worth it, damnit.”

LindenLifestyles.com Venetian Carnivale Masquerade Ball

Filed under: Editorial — Sabrina Doolittle @ 7:09 pm

We’re pleased to annouce that the LindenLifestyles.com birthday bash will be held on Saturday, April 28th, at 7PM game time. The winning theme was “masquerade” so this year’s event is a Venetian Carnivale Masquerade Ball!

Carnivale Invitation

All our readers are absolutely invited. There will be moonlight and masks, live music and gondala rides, fabulous gift bags and much, much more! You can choose to dress in the style of the elegant Venetian Carnivale with sumptuous costumes and masks, or in formal attire.

To reduce lag, we’re limiting this event to Group Only for 70 people. To make sure those 70 people are really committed to their place on the guest list, tickets are $150L and are purchased by joining the group Venetian Carnivale Ball 2007. The event will ONLY be open to members of this group and you must wear your group tag to attend. Tickets are limited, so join early to insure your place. (If we’re seriously over-subscribed, which we doubt will happen, we’ll add a second party following the first from 9 PM to 11 PM.)

You can get an info card, an invitation, the landmark for the party and all the details about what will be there at the invitation stand outside the LindenLifestyles.com office. Please drop by and then join us to celebrate a fabulous year at Linden Lifestyles in fabulous style!

Fashion Show Preview: RPD @Gallery

Filed under: Clothing, Costume, Dresses, Outfits — Sabrina Doolittle @ 9:48 pm

Fashion venue The Gallery will be holding a fashion show this evening (Friday March 30th) from 7 to 9 PM Linden time, featuring clothing from Ariel Black at Rising Phoenix Designs. I totally love Ariel’s clothes but I totally hate fashion shows, so I meandered on over for a preview:

RPD Canon

Above is the rad Canon outfit, which comes with about 9 million layers and options and would look so totally kick ass with the 16-hole Beckenbauer boots that have escaped from my inventory.

RPD Military Fetish

My favourite though is the Military Fetish dress, which rocks in all kinds of ways. My favourite way (because I am basically your garden variety tramp) is the fact that the little X pasties are on their very own jacket layer, and as such, are entirely optional.

All of the items from the fashion show will be for sale in a stall right next door to The Gallery, and of course you can find them over at RPD. So completely worth a visit, either to the show or the shop.

Baby Got Crack

Filed under: Bottoms, Clothing — Sabrina Doolittle @ 6:17 pm

I’m perfectly capable of embracing irony, which is why I’m blogging the TART Crack Jeans two days after a magazine announced that Linden Lifestyles has “started to discourage the “sluttier is better” mantra that pervades the community.”

We do discourage the sluttier is better attitude you see so much of in SL. We have even been known to report an occasional infringer to the SL Fashion Police. But in this case, I’m not totally convinced that ultra-low-rise jeans are always hoochie; I think it has a lot to do with how (and with what) you wear them. Second of all, these jeans are so damn well made, I’m past caring.

tart lowrise

OK, yes - these are the lowest rise jeans I’ve ever seen, in my real life or my virtual one. If I actually had any virtual pubic hair, I’d be sporting Britney levels of peek-a-boo bush. And I cannot underscore enough how peek-a-boo bush is never a good look.

But they are perfectly made; the sems are amazing, the texture is ultra-real, the wrinkles are adorable, and the colours you can choose from are, as far as I’m concerned, the perfect denim selection. They come with mandatory prim leg attachments, and they keep the perfect seam alignment. They also have a finished bottom, so you get that realistic Levi style worn hemline thing going on.

Now, this is the important part. I took my bottoms off to show how much crack these jeans show, and it is quite a lot. Nobody - but nobody - wants to have to look at that much of your arse. (Or mine, for that matter.) It is very important that you do the decent thing and wear, at the very least, a thong with these jeans. Or a belt. Or something.

Because no matter what Britney is showing off these days, crack is not the new black.
