Bounty Offer: Catwalk Couture

I am in desperate need of some fashionista shopping prowess. I need to style someone for, uh, something we’ll talk about later, and I while I have bought approximately 3,000 really fabulous dresses today (and have blog fodder for approximately the next year), I would dearly love to find something along these either of these lines:

 catwalk

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful and $100L poorer. I have tried Paper Couture, Ivalde, Neph, and Vindi  and bought fabulous stuff but nothing really close to either of these. The orange Dior in particular is making me the mental because I know I have seen a similar style in-world.

Anyone?  Anyone? Bueller?

Thanks!

Sabrina,

You are officially as old as me again now - your 17 days of youth are up.

Thank you for years of being an excellent friend (and the year of being an outstanding blogging partner).

I’m sorry you always have to be the grown up, but hell if I want that gig.

Happy Birthday. Get sloshed. Jump the Boy’s bones. Wear a hat.

Weekly Roundup: AT-TI-TUDE!!!

Need to find it. Gotta have it. Must show it. Let it all hang out. You can shout your attitude with Antonia Marat’s of Artilleri Micci necklace and earrings. Miniature mics, but nothing mini about their message. And, according to Isabella Lazarno of Aspire, Antonia has teamed up with Emma Gilmour of Sand Shack Surf Co. to design a nice series of bikinis to benefit Relay for Life.

Selena Gateaux has 3 new hairstyles this week, each coming in all 83 colors. Celebrity Trollope from Second Style Fashionista reported that Ariel Black of Rising Phoenix Designs released a new men’s hair, called Erik. The Second Man talked about Calla’s new men’s release , Catero.

Designing Nicky Ree released her Spring Romance collection of gowns this week. Truly lovely things, almost iridescent. Moo, over at Simplicity, has a blog now, and shows us Lillith, a really cute spring dress with a crocheted bust. Makes your twins stand out and show some of that attitude. She also started a Goth line, and designed Felicia, which is actually cute for Goth, while sexy.

Nothing shows hattitude like a great hat. And Tracy Scofield, of Encore, has given us just the right one. A tam, that comes with Moxie, which is a whole ‘nother way of saying ‘at-ti-tude’. The outfit has a neat short skirt with tartan, alternating with plain, panels, too.

Starley Thereian, of famed Celestial Studios has collaborated with, and is introducing, her rl sister LaRue Laval, who will do her own collection under the name LaLa FooFoo. They’ve done a superb job with Chill, a tank top, great semi-sheer sweater and cropped pants. Starley also has retextured 4 of her past hairdos for us. They look great.

Collaborations seem to be the trend lately, Luminosity and Nyte’N'Day have worked together to produce a business suit with attitude. 3 color options, 1 plain blazer, and 7 blazers with shirt collars; skirt, pants and undies. Oh, and 2 colors of stockings, too. Nyte also has skirts, capris, and pants sets that are great.

I just had to publish this picture of CronoCloud Creeggan, Virtual Fashionista, sporting attitude, and one very large weapon. According to Crono, the machine engine rifle is the creation of Madame Ordinal Malaprop of Ordinal’s Weaponry and other Useful Gadgetry for those of Taste and Discernment, Caledon. The Caledon militia uniform in the pic is by Mr. Edward Pearse. Now that’s at-ti-tude!

Skins are in the news from Digital Dragon Designs, a new avenue for Ninja Petion and Zoey Pinkdot, with 6 tones and 20 makeups. Sachi Vixen, of Adam n Eve released a new one in her special collections, Victoria Pack, very nice indeed.

To complete any outfit, you need SHOES, Shoes. Shoes. Willow Caldera from Style Disorder blogs new shoes from several designers, including Pixel Mode, Last Call, and Civvies. Jackal Ennui of Lassitude & Ennui herself describes her new retro pump Victoria as having attitude.

For the gentlemen, Casa del Shai does Poco, a preppy striped, open shirt with rolled up sleeves, and a set of ribbed tanks, if going bare chested has too much attitude for you. Don’t forget to check out SL Men’s Outfit of the day, this one a nice suit for business, or to take your girl out to dinner. Suits from Vindi Vindaloo. Accessories featured, too, all from different designers. Oh, just noticed the greatest penny loafers I’ve ever seen, from FNKY! & Cake . Now there’s attitude.

Hate to deal with crowds and lag? Well, Nephilaine Protagonist at Pixel Dolls now has a catalog you can browse anywhere in world! Pick up your free copy in her Chartreuse location. She’s also put together some requested multi color packs and posted them to SLX.

Signing out for now, I’m…

Irreconcilable Differences

Salome and I have really different taste in clothes - and, accordingly, often different taste in stores - so when she blogged Hubby’s Boutique and I didn’t take a shine to the dress she was in love with, I wrote off the whole store. Bad Sabrina! Bad! Bad!

The stuff at Hubby’s is actually really excellent, and while obviously not every single item is to my personal taste (trust Salome to pick the one dress I don’t like), I am seriously enamoured with oh so many items in stock.

My current favourite is Carefree, a set with a skirt and tank top ensemble:

The outfit comes in a variety of pastel shades, and includes the skirt, tank top on the shirt layer, and a skirt layer for the hips, either with the belt or with the finished tank top hems. The quality on this outfit is brilliant; aside from the really nice shading on the tank and the prettiness of the skirt prims, this is one of the only texture belts out there that actually looks believeable and isn’t suffering from severe drop-shadow-itis or manky, mismatched styles.

But what I really love about this outfit is that it adds a lot of flexibility to my wardrobe. Obviously you have the belt/no-belt options, but with or without the belt, the tanks look great on their own. Plus you can keep or lose the jacket layer with the tank bottoms, so it makes them really versetile pieces:

I’m currently wearing mine with a pair of jeans, freebie flip-flops and the strung leather belt from Shiny Things. This is a jolly useful top all on it’s own, and with the fact it comes with the skirt and the belt options, I think it’s a fantastic buy at $150L.
