Well, we only have a couple days of June left, but we couldn’t let the opportunity pass us by without letting those of you in the nuptial state of mind show off those something borrowed, something blue extravaganzas of the ultimate events of fashion.

The blushing bride of a winner will take home $1,000L in cash.
You can read our contest guidelines and learn how to add your photos to the flickr photo stream here. Please title contest entries with the word Bride so we know you’re entering and not just showing off. Remember that you can enter as many photos as you want to a maximum of 10 a day, and that photos must be flickr-friendly (if you got married in the buff, there better be creative bouquet placement).
The contest runs until midnight game time on Saturday, July 7th, and the winner will be announced soon after. So take a walk down the aisle and unveil your inner wedding belle.
Having been threatened with a potential mutiny by the fabulous ladies who generally supplement Linden Lifestyles (but have been doing all the heavy lifting lately) it seems fitting that a little announcement is in order.
Those of you who have followed us for a while know that Summertime tends to get absolutely insane for Sabrina and I. Would that Linden Lifestyles paid the bills, but alas, it does not, and so it tends to slip through the cracks when the pinch is on.
We’re not rolling up the street and selling the farm - if you’re kind enough to stick around, we’ll be checking in from time to time. Daisy and Chrono have sweetly agreed to continue to do the weekly round-ups and interviews and I plan to work with arraiin on some flickr contests because I know how popular those have become. Plus, I’m going to put up guidelines to allow readers - for the first time - to submit guest reviews. I think it would be fun to see what some of our readers would showcase, and it also gives readers a chance to experience what goes into writing for a blog like this in and out each day
There will be new content, just not in keeping with our customary pace, though we’ll do everything we can to allow those of you who enjoy this site as much as we do to continue to interact with SL fashion via our sassy shopping bags.
Not having any designer interviews to publish, I decided to interview the lackey that handles them, moi, and publish it on an off day. Sabrina interviewed herself last June, so I might as well keep up the tradition.

LL: How did you get started in SL.
CC: I’m a fan of the GeekBrief video podcast. Last year in July, they mentioned SL and how they were going to have a chat in a 3D environment called Second Life. I had heard of SL before but hadn’t paid much attention to it, in part because of the fee. I had played fee based MMORPG’s and really couldn’t devote enough time for them to make it worth it. But then I found out that SL had added “Basic” accounts, so I signed up on July 19th just to do the chat and see what it was like. Since I was known as CronoCloud to the other GeekBrief fans I chose CronoCloud as my name and chose a male avatar at signup. If I had known what I know now, I’d have chosen a different name, maybe something like “Maquillage Hussy” or similar. SL’s performance simply sucks on my machine but I enjoyed it anyway. I also saw a “pretty” avatar. I’m all about the pretty and wanted a pretty avatar too, so I went shopping. That did not go well at first.
LL: What happened then? Is that when you discovered the SL fashion blogs?
CC: You see, I had joined through a SLURL so I ended up at the location of the chat, rather than Orientation Island. I was totally lost and knew nothing. I didn’t know how HUGE SL was so I began exploring.I couldn’t find things I wanted my avatar to wear so I googled. That led me to Second Style and to Linden Lifestyles. That enabled me to find things I liked. I don’t remember what my first purchase was, I suppose I could find out. In my first few days I didn’t realize I could landmark places, and there’s places I saw back then I wouldn’t mind seeing again. Nostalgia for my noobie days, I guess.
LL: You became a fashion addict quickly?
CC: Pretty much. Back when I started the Midnight City girls were all the rage, though most of the big names now were big names then. I bought OPIUM, and ETD early on. One of my favorite early purchases was the Spring Flowers dresses from Torridwear, I still use the animations included in the Spring Flowers purse in my AO. I didn’t buy skin for almost two weeks. It was either Luxe, Adam N Eve Celebrity Moonbeams or Tete a Pied (Une series). I actually bought the Celebrity’s after meeting Sachi Vixen at the building of the Dickens Fair, which I had read about, probably on New World Notes or something.

LL: That is where you met the Red Headed Shameless Hussy, wasn’t it?
CC: Yes, I was so tickled pink to meet famous SL celebrities like Sabrina and Sachi. I was in awe! That was about July 30th I think. I have pictures of my avatar at the Fair during the building with Sabrina and Sachi in the background. By that time I had learned about screenshots and that’s when I decided to chronicle my avatar’s growth as a fashionista on my personal blog, which needs some updating.
LL: Which eventually led to you joining PXP, correct?
CC: Yes, PXP advertised for writers and it was suggested that I apply, and I was accepted. Again, I was in awe! Me, writing alongside the greats of PXP. I wasn’t a frequent contributor for reasons of time, but I enjoyed writing for PXP. I still miss it.
LL: What happened after that?
CC: I returned to semi-occasionally blogging and shopping. Then, Linden Lifestyles approached me with what I often call my “lackey gig” helping with the Friday Interviews. I enjoy doing it, it’s fun and I finally got to meet The Patootie Haired One, Salome.

LL: Where do you like to shop?
CC: Everywhere. I’ll try anything, though I tend to prefer tailored, ladylike and retro looks. Celebrity Trollop once referred to me as the “Bree Hodge” (the Desperate Housewives character) of SL, which made me laugh because stylewise, Bree is my favorite Desperate Housewives character.
LL: What else do you enjoy in SL, besides shopping?
CC: I do a bit of scripting now and then, though I’m still very much a beginner at that. I can’t design objects or clothing besides a simple t-shirt, at all. My GIMP (a free image editor that I favor) skills are very rough. I think I’ll stick to shopping and writing, for the most part. I do like playing with the tools though and encourage everyone to try them out even if just for fun. I like exploring and ought to do more of it that’s why I’m a big fan of what Ida Keen’s doing with her Second Tourist site, besides her being a Patootie wearer. I also like visiting Victorian/Steampunk regions of Caledon, it’s that whole “retro” thing of mine. But I guess as a whole, I’m a fashionista version of Caine from television series, “Kung Fu”. Wandering the grid in search of “the pretty”.
LL: Thanks for the interview CC. I can call you CC right?
CC: “Laughs” Of course. All my friends call me CC. It’s a lot faster and less geeky than saying CronoCloud. And yes, I do like Squaresoft games.

OK, folks, I miss the heck out of Sabrina and Salome too. They must be busier than a one-eyed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs in rl. And I am also getting a sore finger hitting the refresh button all day. Some of us discussed mutiny and publishing our own reviews, but Captain Sabrina would surely make us walk the plank for that one. So, there’s not a cat in hell’s chance of that, and anyway, drowning would make me look like something the cat’s dragged in. My cat may have 9 lives, but I sure don’t!

I do have permissions to publish. So, I’ll make it a little longer, go over my strict photo limit, and flesh it out today. I’m no substitute, I know, for the top cats, but I’ll at least get some new words on the page. There’s more than one way to skin a cat! And, when Sabrina skins me alive, I’ll just go buy a new one!
I felt like the cat that got the cream the other day when Sachi Vixen of Adam n Eve offered me her new Rebecca skins and Honey hair to test. She’s beautiful, sweet, but with sexy cat-slanted eyes! Sachi has Rebecca’s shape for sale, too, and let the cat out of the bag that Damen has designed shoes for their clothing line. Starley Thereian of Celestial Studios has put out her summer release limited edition of 4 new makeups for the Vogue line of skins. Her spring ltd. ed. is being retired on June 29th.
Arraiin Grayson, who runs lindenlifestyle’s flickr contests, made a point of mentioning Betty Doyle’s designs to me. Betty’s been around awhile, has a shop in Caledon, and designs under the labels of Drusilla’s Delight - Victorian dress, and Ingenue - vintage inspired things from c 1940’s. I’d not got upstairs to discover the Ingenue line, and was pleasantly surprised. Her stuff is simply the cat’s whiskers! My favorite is her “Powder Your Face with Sunshine”, a darling 40’s-50’s style polka dotted sundress, that adapts for a playsuit, and little skirted bathing suit, complete with bracelets. I found her “Music in My Heart” on slex in Bluebell, of course. Look at the great detail, and I love the sheer accents on the top. Her stuff is a little pricey, but so well done!

Camie Cooper’s got a whole litter of stuff for us this week. Her babydoll is called Dollop of Daisies, and I adore the name, and, oh, the dress too. There’s also a sexy slouchy dress, and a couple of different halter tops that are sure to draw catcalls from the guys. Casa del Shai introduces her new line “Romancing The Filipiniana Ternos”, and a more gorgeous set of gowns you will not see. She also did exquisite Philippine National Costumes for men, the Barong Tagalog. To sweeten the kitty, Ginny Talamasca and Lyra Muse of Last Call released Eclectic this week. TEN complete outfits , something for every cool-cat lady in sl.
Marleen Vaughan of Marly’s‘ new Colleen Being Coy vintage dress caught my fancy, and I wore it around all week in Sea (read teal blue). She’s also got Kitter’s Meow Mix, and, it’s not the cat’s pajamas because it’s a 70’s style knit dress. Frangipani Designs did a Bardot Bikini set with a nice flexi miniskirt add-on for additional cover in case you’d rather see which way the cat jumps before removing it. Nyte Caligari over at Nyte’n'Day has lovely satin formals, slack outfits, and babydoll dresses for us this week. Rebel Hope offers Tease:The Little Blue Collection, a gown with 13 lovely pieces that will make any sourpuss smile.
Canimal Zephyr’s got some adorable bowling pin earrings for you sporty types, and freebie sculptie heart earrings if you join her update group. I had kittens when I saw Tatoo Korvin’s D2TK wingtip heels for ladies. High, without being sluttish, they are really a dead ringer for the classic spectator pumps. Not new releases, but I needed to sneak these in. He’s got the solid black, solid white, white/grey, white/black, and white/brown. Hey, Tatoo, where are the white/navy ones? I need them. I bought 2 pair, and they come with a bunch of stuff I don’t need because the shoes themselves are enough for me - 10 walks and sparkle options too. I feel like such a glamour puss in them.

Rosemary Galbraith, of Oh! What a Neat Boutique has a new twist for her update group, wearable demos. My groups are maxed again, but, according to her blog, just im her for demos of her new things. Nicky Ree asked that I tell you about her Face of Asia Model Search. You need not be of Asian descent, but your av must have the look to be considered. Grazia Horwitz of Second Style has the details .
I must have caught the vintage shoe bug this week, too. Normally, I don’t put sneakers on my dainty feet. But when I saw these Lady Cassady Casuals from Kurt Cassady Shoes, I grinned like a Cheshire cat. They look just like the keds I used to own, and actually still have in rl, right down to the little blue rubber tag on the heel. They come in 2 styles, the full heel, or the slip-on mule, and in many colors and patterns. I bought the all white, of course, but their perfect detail shows up much better in the others. HINT: Buy them from his store in Mugunghwa, as they are 100L$ cheaper there.

Amanda at Calico Creations did Jessica, a nice pulled back on top, long hairstyle for us. Six Kennedy at Gurl 6 added 4 more hairstyles, and, because there’s not room to swing a cat in her loaded store, added 2 more to her clearance rack. So, if you love Ivy and Centerfold Remix, give up your catnap, and go shopping. Not letting sleeping cats lie, Selena Gateaux has 9 new hairstyles .
Miriel Enfield redid all of her eyes with a new large size. The regular sizes are still available. Siyu Suen of Illusions crafted the most delicious looking rose necklaces, available in 20 colors, too. Hope you run over there like a cat on hot bricks to get 1 or 2. Hep cat Lucas Lameth of Earthtones Boutique offers the beautiful Dreamweaver necklace and earring sets. Britneyj Crimson of Second Mirage did some delicate pearl drop necklaces . They come in a set of 3 colors.
Guys, you can now be the cat’s meow in Blaze Columbia’s totally revamped sculpted, flexi ties! He’s also updated his dress shirts. You’ll look hotter than a six-peckered alley cat in them. Speaking of which, I haven’t been able to close my mouth since I’ve seen Amby & Lost’s Naughty Designs new hairstyles for men! Meoooow. High in prim count, therefore detail, they. are. absolutely. marvelous. Try them. BUY them. OK, I can’t resist another pic. There’s another danger of being skinned alive again. Maybe she’ll settle for a catty remark.

Cat’s got my tongue, so
Signing out for now, I’m…
