Can it ever be said we have too much of a good thing? Not at all! Give me more and more and more. I’d say we’re on our way with all that I’ve seen so far this week.
DoC Eldritch, DE Designs, pretty much impressed me with Cinder. Black, sexy, very detailed, and with lots of sculptie additions, this pants outfit is a stunner. Without so much as a by-your-leave, Neferia Abel, Ivalde, created Bianca, a gothic bustled gown that is a big departure from her usual, but luscious nevertheless. If you’re looking for Gothic less formal, Raven Lament, Ravenwear, has a very nice embroidered Gothic Nights prim dress available.
While much can be said for the 70’s, the fashions of the times left much to be desired as far as I’m concerned. Except for the shoes. Damen Gorilla, of AdamnEve, took platforms to a new level. His Scamander Heels have my feet longing for the disco craze of that time. Shown in gold here so you can see every yummy sculptie detail, they come in 7 other liquidy colors.

If wedding bells are in your future, Rebel Hope has a profusion of prim bridal flowers in 10 colors, called Cascade. Roslin Petion and CJ Carnot, Fleur Skins, have added, after much time has passed, to their nail collection, with Shimmer Nails.
Toraji Voom, *DP* Yum Yum, has the cutest Spring Sweater, that I have high hopes of needing soon. Likewise, BettiePage Voyager, BP, has adorable skirts. And you just have to feast your eyes on the new release outfits Miko Omegamu of Icing is tempting us with now! Elika Tiramisu, ETD, tells us her store has reopened with new hair, clothes, AND accessories. Can’t ask for much more!
Lucas Lameth, Earthtones Boutique, has much to celebrate with the release of 3 new jewelry sets. Something for everyone. And I almost missed these incredible his/hers watch sets that Gospel Voom at Sensual Productions did. Called Windrider, they’re more real looking than my rl watch.

Kitridge DeSantis, Kitchy Boutique, did plenty of great striped sweater dresses, that come with opaque tights and legwarmers, too. Tesla Miles has done it again, this time a fab pair of platform heels, Estella. Be sure while there to get her free updated Mary Jane pumps, and buy he Jane heels for a pittance.
Starley Thereian, Celestial Studios, after much trouble, released her Vogue Skins Winter Series, for those of you holding your breath waiting for more. Stephen Lightworker, RealSKIN, likes Barack Obama so much, she made the Angela skin in his honor. I like Jessie Gervasi’s, The HUB, stuff as much as anyone’s and am glad she has a blog now so I can mention her new release, the Jackie dress.
Tracy Scofield, Encore, is giving away, at her main store, the old “Sit’n'Spin” toy she made, and it looks like a lot of fun! Onyx LeShelle, Maitreya, is giving away the matte version of her Slinky Stilettos to foil the thief selling them.
Not missing much, and

When I hear the name Tesla, I think of Nikola Tesla, 80’s rock concerts, and now, thanks to Tesla Miles, sculpty shoes.
LL: How did you get started designing and how did you name your business?
Tesla Miles: I started SL as a sandbox addict and built many miscellaneous objects out of regular prims. Then one day, in May 2007, sculpted prims came to SL and I thought I’d give them a go. I was amazed at the kind of shapes I could bring into the world, and my first successful sculptie was a UFO - lol - yeah, I know simple, but the shape reminded me of hats, so I decided to experiment with hats… I made five hats to begin with and decided to make them available to the public. As luck would have it, some intrepid fashionistas stumbled upon my tiny store and raved about the sculpted prim hats in their blogs; they discovered me, a complete unknown! And then slowly more and more people came to my store, while it inspired me to continue making more things.
I named my business Tesla, as in my own SL name - hehe. Tesla, by the way, was inspired by the name of real life scientific genius, Nikola Tesla, whose ideas were ahead of his time. I’m quite glad that I picked that name for the store, because in a way, it keeps his name alive through fashion!! Hopefully, people do become curious and read his fascinating biography.

Given the amount of rolling in the virtual hay that goes on in SL, there is a serious lack of stylin’ cowgirls wandering the grid. Those I do see are usually donning horrible pink-tinted ten-gallon hats that would make Hoss Cartwright cry like a baby and what can most charitably be described as cast-offs from Hee Haw extras’ dressing rooms circa 1975. If there are already sequins on your lapel, there shouldn’t be bling and for the love of god, death before sueded fringe, people.
Since “cowgirl” for me is defined as either Debra Winger or Dolly, I decided to go Urban Cowgirl (given the slider abuse of the bust measurements in SL, Dolly would have been a bit of a slippery slope).

Being a cowgirl is all about the accessories. And I found some fantastic sculpty treasures, starting with these hats by Sarajaska Electricteeth who, as far as I can tell, only sells on SLEX. She offers two hats - the black “Outlaw” and white “Hero” which are incredibly well shaped and textured. They’re fantastic for male or female avies.

Next, I found some boots at SLink that take western wear to the next level. They are the most realistic stamped leather cowboy boots I have yet seen moseyin’ around the metaverse. The patina on the leather texture gives it a “just been shined” look and the shape is chunky, but not overly clumsy or bulky like so many boots in SL.

While I know I could have searched around for spurs and lassos and any number of other items, I chose to hitch my wagon to LaynieWear’s faboo tintable camisoles. These are great multi-layer staples for those fighting EMS and still have a casual style all their own. I almost put a duster over them, but that felt a bit too much. As with all genre wear, my theory with country western is that less is more and these camisoles are great for reining in the cheekier elements of this particular outfit. They come in 4 different fully-tintable styles and are, near as I can discern, only available at the Lemon Island location which is obviously a conspiracy to make me mental (okay, more mental) by forcing me into the mall environment I shun IRL. (***Correction - there are SIX and not four camisoles and they are now at both locations - this is what happens when you blog with a cold***)

BTW - if you’re looking for somewhere to show off your new duds, I highly suggest searching SL Events for Live Music by TallGuy Kidd, Patrick LaSalle, Montian Gilruth, or Skinny Shepherd - most of whom will be playing at the SL Virtual State Fair.
From Their Press Release:
Livestock, homemade pickles, ferris wheel, cotton candy, live music, fireworks….it’s a Virtual State Fair!
This three day event celebrates the launch of a new website, www.extension.org, and coincides with the real life celebration in Washington DC. The Virtual State Fair will be on display at the real life venue, and portions of the real life proceedings will be streamed into the fair.
The new website is the centerpiece of the National eXtension Initiative, bringing the best, most reliable and unbiased information to consumers on a variety of practical topics, including personal finance, gardening, parenting, and disaster preparedness. The website connects consumers with experts from over 70 land-grant universities acrss the USA., offers a searchable database, and an “Ask the Experts” option.
The Virtual State Fair will offer exhibits highlighting topics from the website, as well as amusements, a horseback riding area sponsored by AKK Ranch, livestock provided by Tuber Potato, and 15 hours of live music from Second Life favorites such as Lyndon Heart, Tone Uriza, and Kim Seifert.
After the celebration, the fairgrounds in Second Life will serve as the basis for in-world educational activities to support the eXtension project.
The main gate of the Virtual state Fair is located at Morrill/131/11/24.

I may make a beeline for all the shops first thing in the morning. There’s enough good stuff out there this week to make your bum hum.
Nessinger Loveless, Tart Clothing, wants you to make a big to-do over the luscious lingerie in the store. Nicolette is just one available. Hair Styles by Tami McCoy is making headway with sculpties. She’s designed a cute shell jewelry set that comes in both yellow and white gold.
Antonia Marat, Artilleri, did some great highwaisted shorts/miniskirts. And I mean mini. You’ll make a splash in Blaze Columbia’s very red Six Gown, patterned after #6 in Battlestar Galactica. Neferia Abel, Ivalde, has made retro fashionable, and continues with her 40’s inspired Ailin dress . I can’t make up my mind which of the 4 colors to buy, but I bet you can guess.

Canimal Zephyr has six new makeups in her Essence skin line. Roslin Petion and CJ Carnot, are making a comeback with a rebranding as Fleur Skins. Their first Boutique release is a sweet Manga skin, Shojo. SavannahAnn McMillan, Spirit, has some lovely Pro Spirit Cheer Skins .
Damen Gorilla, AdamnEve, will make a bundle on his all sculptie Volar pumps. They’re high and sexy, a look awfully good. Zen Deledda, House of Zen can make your career if you choose this great Career Woman outfit from the Wall Street Collection. I love the piping.

Miko Omegamu, Icing, has 2 new dresses, but especially check out the Pleasantville shirtwaist. It’ll make you look oh so very good. Onyx LeShelle, Maitreya, makes new tracks with her Sculpted Leather Anklets, something you can wear with any of your shoes. Emeriselle Theas, Orchid Dreams, offers her SaSa sculpted wedge heels in some nice patterned colors.
Elika Tiramisu, ETD, has 2 new hair releases, and made them at a discount price at select locations until this weekend. Better find them fast. Designing Nicky Ree has made an offer we can’t refuse. A very nice IBM ladies outfit and a casual one for guys, free, but you must hunt for their 2 parts.
Making the most of it and
