…And Thanks For All the Fish

Filed under: About, Editorial — Salome Strangelove @ 5:27 am

Friends and Loyal Readers,

As of August 8th, 2008 Linden Lifestyles will no longer be updating active content. The time required to maintain this project simply hasn’t been a luxury we’ve got in pocket these days. The site will continue as a reference archive for existing and new readers, but there will be no new reviews or updates following August 8th. In the past, we have had periods of hiatus and/or slower posting paces, but this time we’re finally pouring the last few drinks, closing the doors and sweeping out the sawdust.

As of this posting:
1. Content creators should no longer send samples for evaluation to reviewers;
2. Any new advertising will be on the understanding that this is an archive only-site;
3. Current advertisers have the option to finish out their number of impressions, or request a refund on remaining impressions.

In addition to the above, as of August 8th, 2008:
1. Comments will be turned off on all entries;
2. The Linden Lifestyles Flickr Group will no longer be approving new images;

We may be posting a few final entries before the closing date - just to get it out of our systems ;-)

We cannot thank you enough for the support that you have shown as a community for a bunch of girls playing virtual paper dolls and writing about it. It has been a delight to squee with you in prim lust these last two years. While we move on to new projects, we hope you will continue to enjoy the goodies the grid has to offer and share them with friends in the name of fun and prim vanity.

Kindest Regards,

Sabrina Doolittle

Weekly Roundup: True to Form

Filed under: Roundups — Daisyblue Hefferman @ 4:22 am

Have we ever got it made! Gorgeous clothes for pennies seems too good to be true, but it’s an accurate assessment of the great stuffage out there for the taking.

Designing Nicky Ree’s Black Swan Vintage gown made my eyes pop, truly. CJ Carnot and Roslin Petion, Fleur Skins, have created a custom skin to complement the gown. If babydoll’s are your true delight, then Janie Marlow, Mischief, has a couple for you. Neferia Abel, Ivalde, has an 80s ensemble, and a cocktail dress. Caroline Apollo, Caroline’s Jewelry, has the most darling ladybug set whose wings open to a watch.

Onyx LeShelle, Maitreya, reports her new shoes, Frenzy, in an assortment of materials and colors. Damen Gorilla, AdamnEve,showed his true colors this week with a release of his Miranda shoes, real, honest to goodness, sculpted slingbacks. Now for the opposite of dainty lady shoes! Tesla Miles did men’s Urban Tactic Sculptie Boots. They are amazingly real, and come with a resize menu. I resized a pair -20% and they are great on my size 0 feet.

Draconic Lioncourt, Draconic Kiss, has a whole array of great outfits for you to check out. Maria Gherardi, MG Fashions, is true blue and 10 other colors with her darling playsuits. I want one in every color!

Wisp Jinn, Wishbox, has an unquestionable adorable dress suitable for your fairy moments. Among other things, check out the truly adorable Fedora Hat that Icemocolo Voom made for Muism. Nephilaine Protagonist, PixelDolls, has the Amity Dress, whose asymmetrical skirt can be bought separately. Forda Fairlane and Moxie Polano, Haute Style & Co., have a true array of outfits, but check out the striped Tornado outfit for starters.

Indubitably exhausted, and

Weekly Roundup: Live It Up

Filed under: Roundups — Daisyblue Hefferman @ 4:51 am

My shopping time has been rather limited lately, so I’m glad for the blogs of new releases that are posted faithfully by many designers. Rest assured, I do look at every one in my long, long lists every single week. This week I’m feeling I’ve led a charmed life, for all the goodies I’ve uncovered.

Live on the edge and try Blaze Columbia’s Sensual Gown. It’s sheer daring but sheer loveliness. Still too tame for your tastes? Then try one of Designing Nicky Ree’s 3 new lingerie collections. The peignoirs alone are marvelous. I gasped for breath when I saw Ravenlynn Templar’s, LVS, Inc., newest Princess Couture gown, Jane. It’s got my name written all over it.

Footwear Expo has some treats in store for us. Fallingwater Cellardoor, Shiny Things, made her Belles, a marvelous sculpted platform heel, and offers free colored stocking there, too. Damen Gorilla, AdamnEve, shared some sculptie goodness in the form of his Jaydie’s shoes, open-toed marvels. Jessie Gervasi, The Hub, announced that they’ll be releasing a new style of sculpted shoe, Athena, also at the Expo. Eolande Elvehjem, Accessories by Eolande, has 2 styles of sandals and some great jewelry to show us.

Nylon Pinkney, Nylon Outfitters, just added several outfits, separates, and jewelry to brighten our lives. Nephilaine Protagonist, PixelDolls, new dress with striped top is a nice change of pace to liven things up. A long time coming, but Phaylen Fairchild, Diva Designs, is gonna live high on the hog with her new collection of 99L$ airy summer blouses.

Migi Voom and Ai Heinrichs, Muism, did a very nice goth dress that can be worn by anyone, and also a more bohemian skirt outfit. If you’re a fan of large, floppy brimmed picture hats, as I am, get on over to Elegance Hats, where Morrigan Hyun has Lisette all packaged and ready to go.

Myllie Writer, Persona, has a precious but sexy babydoll dress you’ll love. SySy Chapman, Sysy’s, did some drop dead sexy slip dresses and others you’ll want to see.

Weekly Roundup: The Rest is History

Filed under: Roundups — Daisyblue Hefferman @ 4:55 am

I’m always amazed at the creativity I see all around me. SL’s designers are no exception. They keep on comin’ up with innovative, or great ideas. Here’s the rest of the story:

Tuli Asturias released four new makeups for her Emily skin, for those of you holding your breath waiting. Naergilien Wunderlich, Wunderlich’s Historical Garb, saw the need for special Victorian skins with little makeup. The results will suit you time travelers to a T, and the photosourcing is amazing, veins and all! Redheads take note! Roslin Petion, Fleur Skins, has Emma, a limited release Relay for Life offering. She’s lovely!

Myllie Writer, Persona, has a lovely Pearl Drop Jewelry Collection that’s sure to catch your fancy. Damen Gorilla, Adam’n'Eve, did 2 shoe styles and here are his Sugarr Wedges. Stop in the store to see his sexy Lotus Heels. And, not resting on her laurels, Fallingwater Cellardoor, Shiny Things, did Plainers, her Skyliner shoes without the skyline. Sometimes plainer is better. :)

Neferia Abel, Ivalde, has a slew of new dresses, from the romantic to the verrrry sexy, leaving no rest for the wicked. Ciera Bergman, Vitamin Ci, has some very cute jeans outfits for summer, Bella.

You’ll go gaga over Gigi, Designing Nicky Ree’s new beaded pearl gown collection. Sysy Chapman, Sysy’s, did a cute little summer dress, and named it Sasy. Rest assured, Janie Marlowe’s, Mischief, new Cabaret outfits will delight you, and so will its coordinating hair/hat combo.

Siyu Suen, Illusions, released the rest of her Piratey Goodness collection. there’s Boots, galore, hats, belts, gloves, everything your little piratey heart desires. And you can rest assured no one will recognize you in Tesla Miles’ new Oracle sunglasses. Rei Gully, Zero Style, has 5 new hairstyles for your perusal. Marleen Vaughan, Marlys, will have you high stepping in style in her Cowgirl hat/hairstyles and western-style shirts.

I rest my case and
