If you missed it, because lord knows I don’t talk myself up to any open ear, I am a University student. And it is September. Now I’m in english, not math, but that equation adds up to one out of control first life. Managing a Second Life? While this could have come at a much better time (I think Steve Irwin may have been Salome’s secret identity…) every now and then I’ll miss a beat. If you like the roundups, it’ll suck, and if you hate them, the line for confetti is to your left. I’ll settle in to the rhythm again, eventually cooking, reading, laundry will all come back to me and we’ll forget this ever happened.
Now, I don’t have too much to share this week (or last) so the worst part is over.
The 4th issue of SecondStyle is finally out, and with the most eyepopping cover yet. Rock fashion, punk stylin’, and features on SilentSparrow, Canimal, and Lost and Ambyance2 just to name a few! Speaking of the latter two, their new island just opened up last week with a fanny-load of brand new hair, skins, accessories, and clothes. Brace yourself to break the bank!
Also, another episode of SecondCast is out! It’s a little… spacey… But more than worth listening to for Taco Rubio’s well rehearsed and flawless performance in the role of Torrid Midnight alone. Also, PLAID is the new black, boys, but A for effort.
Myst Panther’s Caveat Emptor blog has experienced quite an evolution in its short life, and now includes the typical scam alerts, as well as advice/tips and, my favourite features, Myst’s Business Musings. A new introspective and intriguing look inside customer-vendor relations is up and a very worthwhile read (as is the entire blog!).
Finally, the biggest news in SL fashion at the moment is another flare-up of its chronic drama-itis. This time, it’s resulting in death threats and other extreme forms of animosity. Consequently, both Torrid Midnight and Starley Thereian will be taking breaks from Second Life. Please note neither has said they’re leaving forever, which is the rumour that’s popping up on more than a few sites. This is not my soapbox, this is not your soapbox either. I’ve chosen no sides and I will ne post any links to aticles on the issue. If you don’t already know, you’re likely a much happier person for it. Why is SL fashion so ravenous? We all make friends, and many go to extreme lengths to guard them, say vicious things we would never say to someones face. If there’s one thing that needs to change about the SL fashion world, it’s this. If you dislike someone, ignore them. If you disagree with something, keep it civil. Most importantly, unless you are involved in an issue directly, you don’t need to be involved at all. There’s a heart and a mind behind your avatar the same as there’s a heart and a mind behind mine. Log off with clean consciences and good karma, babes.
P.S. The Classifieds forums are no longer closing (though the Sandbox forums etc have been closed) so YAY!… For most of us.
P.P.S. You have one week left before Burning Life ‘06 poofs! Make the most of it!

Hm… I hope plaid is not the new black because of Jeffery on Project Runway. xD

Happily Starley’s “break” lasted a week. And despite what she posted about taking her skins down, possibly for good, she’s got new ones coming!!! Looking forward to those.
I think when people leave SL for good, they just say nothing and split. I really hope Torrid comes back, maybe as an alt to have some fun.

This used to be my #1 source for SL fashion. Is it closing?

As it stands now, Sabrina and Salome have been MIA for nearly two months. I’ve stopped doing roundups in this time because they seem sort of pointless with nothing else going on, and no news from either of them on what’s going on/if they plan to return. The domain’s still being paid for, so I can only assume they’re just really busy. I hope they return, but that’s all the information I have at this point. :\
