As I may have mentioned previously, I am a complete hat whore. So when faced with a masquerade ball, I decided to bend the rules and come not masked, but hatted. Siyu Suen, the creator behind the Illusions masks Salome previously blogged has added a line of brilliant, awesome, amazing hats to her range, like this Harajuku Top Hat:

I loved it. I adored it. It didn’t match my dress, though, so I contacted her for a custom job and got this fabulous, frivolous frippry to wear for the evening:

These are totally chic, over the top millinery dream hats. Among my favourite’s is a divine replica of Eliza Doolittle’s Ascot hat:

And thus, I officially declare: hats are the new black.
Now some very smart hair maker needs to develop a line a special hat hair for women, because the biggest challenge in wearing a hat is not having your hair sticking up through your hat. The obvious solution, of course, is to not have hair on the top of your head. Granted, the market will be small, but the hat whores of SL will be your bitches. Trust me on this…
Illusions
Harajuku Top Hat: $275L
Eliza’s Ascot Hat: $415:
Plio (197, 85, 124)

Ok, I know you blogged it before, but what is the name & designer of the 1st hair style you’re wearing with the top hat?

SQWEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Siyu’s hats, like her masks, are taking SL by storm! Granted, that storm is fabulously dressed with an impeccable taste in style, and topped with a magnificent hat, but an agressive storm nontheless!
Just.. just… aren’t the GORGEOUS!!! I’m planning on spending every linden, down to the linden cents, on these peachilicious creations.
HURRAY for crazy, fun, creative, wacky mask-wearing, famous people like Siyu Suen!
I’m headed to Illusions right now, which is what made me want to post. See you soon, Siyu Suen.

Mmm hats!
I was just wondering, was your AV name inspired by Audrey Hepburn characters:
Sabrina Fairchild of Sabrina
Eliza Doolittle of My Fair Lady
Because, I’m a big Audrey Hepburn fan

That first hair is from Here Comes Trouble, it’s either Tiya or Tiye in auburn, I think
It’s really fun to wear with all sorts of things in your hair, it’s just so wild! It’s even one of the freebies.

(For some reason my last comment got cut off)
I love Linden Lifestyles!! You said you were going to blog your outfit, not write a Worship the Hat post!! I… love… you…
Sabrina, you’re getting a hat named after you. And I know just what to make
Expect a present soon.

Siyu knows I have a “thing” for hats in SL. I love that she let’s me know when something comes out that she thinks I might like!
Isn’t the black one just divine? Love it! Glad you are promoting Siyu, she’s a wonderful designer and gal.

I do not see Gorean Fashions here! Does your publications discriminate against Goreans?
- Fnertin Schmo
Ubar
Port Victoria - Land of the Pleasure Slaves
Comment by Fnertin Schmo — March 10, 2007 @ 2:58 pm
We don’t discriminate, Fnertin, but we blog what we like and what we know. Neither of us are into Gor and we don’t really intend to be posers playing around with other people’s lifestyles (virtual or not). That said, if a silk merchant or other niche market creator drops samples on us, we always consider them and have, from time to time, reviewed them.
Comment by Salome Strangelove — March 10, 2007 @ 5:58 pm
Like Salome says, if you do a search for silks here, you’ll find a few. They are just not our favourite things as we don’t actually wear them, and we’ve built the blog on picking and writing about the items we really enjoy.

I’m a huge Hepburn fan but in fact, Sabrina is my real name and my last name begins with D - Doolittle was the best of what was going at the time.

Props to Siyu. I met her once at her store when I was a wet behind the ears newbie and she was very patient and gracious. I wish her every success.
