300 is a new film from Warner Brothers, depicting the story of King Leonidas and 300 Spartan soldiers who fight to the last man against Persian King Xerxes and his army of more than one million. It sounds depressing, but it has won acclaim for it’s use of live actors and illustative, virtual backgrounds.
Its not surprising, then, that WB has chosen to promote the film in our little virtual world. Over on the Silverscreen sim, there’s a Sparta build, and in it you can find a full compliment of free costumes and accessories from the movie, which are yours for the pillaging.
The male costume comes in a box with prim loincloth with sword belt, sheathed sword, sandals, wolf tooth pendant, cloak, undershirts, and various warrior accessories. There is also a stunning helmet with horsehair mane, sheilds and spears that you can pick up by walking around the build. Everything is set for sale at 0L.
The female costume requires no hunting or gathering, and just comes all in one box. You get a backless white toga-style gown, glitch pants, woven flexi belt, flexi neck train, sandals, arm band bangle, necklace, and matching earrings.
While the Spartan look is little, well, spartan for me, there are pieces I really like. The male costume is pretty damn hot, and that helmet is the bomb. The women’s gown is really sheer and pretty, and I’m never going to turn down free shoes or accessories. For the hunters and gatherers, there are a few other fun pieces that can be found stashed around. Try falling down the well, and see what you can find. Also, upstairs in one of the lofts. Look in a rain barrel for an interesting addition to the male costume.
If you look some of the surrounding visuals, many of them, such as the trees, urns, vases, are free to copy.

I heard over the weekend that 300 was being promoted in SL, but RL got in the way so I haven’t been able to take a peek. Will defo be checking it out now, I can’t wait for the movie ( I love swords and sandals epics anyway) and the fact that you can get costumes from it is just plain kinky. I love the dress..shall definately be adding that to my collection!

OMG!! I saw the Gladiator outfit over at Rebel Hope, but I SO didn’t see these!! I’m going to wear that helmet ’till april now!!

After visiting the place once again a few days ago:
The 300 freebies are back at silverscreen in the spartan village.
By visiting the island, you may be able to find also the die hard 4 freebies (with the warlock room), and some Transformers avatars (Bumblebee and Barricade)
(look in the basement of the main island, and the small ones around)

When there is a rolling restart of my home, I log in generally at the silverscreen island, so I found there recently new freebies for the movie “Ironman” :
A full Ironman avatar, alongside an AO to move like a real hero are now there waiting to be picked up :p
Old freebies from the previous promoted movies are still available on their separate islands in this sim, well enjoy
