Callie Cline

It took me approximately forever to get together with SL designer Callie Cline, but I’m so glad I finally got a great bunch of stuff from Callie Cline at Shivar. Callie sells a large clothing range with an intelligent approach to design; there are perhaps a dozen basic styles, but each style is rendered in many different colours with changes in pattern and detailing.

Take for example this Glitter Baby line, which comes in at least a 15 candy and metallic shades for all you club chicks out there. But it also comes in earthy shades like this brown, which is just fabulous - it’s totally Lara Croft and that is never a bad thing:

Callie also makes a great range of dresses with antique and traditional ethnic influences. This dress is from the Dream range:

I like the gently scalloped neckline and the beading details scattered over the dress. They’re repeated across front and back with well-placed attention to detail:

I’m not usually keen on this style of glove, but it works really well with the gown. Without the gloves, it’s a slightly less Ren, more cocktails kind of outfit. I’m a fan of versatility.

At $300 to $400L a pop, this stuff is not cheap. Fortunately, Callie is a girl who likes her sales, and there’s usually a buy two get one free sale going on (coupons are in the dress boxes). And who can resist a sale?

...but if you're looking for an item in an old entry or a store that has moved, please IM the designer if you can't find it. We probably can't find it either!
