I finally was forced by my chattering teeth to turn on my furnace this morning. After logging in to my beachfront home, I simply could not bear to look at myself in some skimpy outfit. So, I set out to find something warmer to wear.
I wandered around in Osaka and came across Bettiepage Voyager’s shop, BP. And, oh my, gosh, golly, gee and holy sheee-it! (That’s as close to a squee as I come, folks.) I found a TWINSET. Yes, a real, honest-to-goodness twinset. That’s two coordinated sweaters, one worn over the other. If you opened my rl closet, there you would find lined up, hanger after hanger of, yes, twinsets. They’re right next to the 2 dozen black skirts and one dozen pairs of black slacks I own. (Hey, you can never have too many of those.)

This is the full whammy here, her Twin Knit Set in gray/blue. It also comes in navy/red, and brown/pink. I am in heaven, and toasty warm now. I also look pretty good. Just call me the Twinset Queen. I just love the loose, ruffly look of the collar, it adds femininity, too. Nothing bugs me more than a tight neck on a sweater. The knit prim cuffs both look good and keep the wind from getting in. And all the prim attachments fit without adjustment.

The textures in the cardigan are wonderful, and with nice, obvious buttonholes. If I have one complaint, it’s the buttons aren’t color-matched to the sweater. Charcoal gray and a bit smaller would have been a nicer touch. These are whimsical, though, and definitely flowers.

(More Twinsanity! after the cut…)
The shell looks great on its own, and the ribbing is carried through on the shell. It’s another option to leave the high collar off altogether. This neckline could have been lower, though, a little more rounded. I am going to beg on my knees to Bettiepage for a matching knit pencil skirt. Barring that, I had to make do with one of my classic pleated skirts, and added my favorite Arme boots from adamneve.

The shell comes on all 3 layers, and the cardigan on both the shirt and jacket layers, making it possible to wear something high waisted on the bottom, like Ingenue’s Cigarette Pants, perhaps just to cover the breezy gap. There’s also a shirt or jacket option that puts both sweaters on you in one layer. Endless possibilities here.
While I was still reeling from having the great good luck to find the sweaters, my eyes cast upon another find. The Short Duffel Coat was just what I needed for chilly nights around the fire on my beach, as I told a friend who asked why in the world I needed a coat. (I also avoid winter sims like the plague.) Anyway, it was so darn cute!

Need I say more? It’s got a soft suede texture making me die to just stroke it. It even has toggles! Well, I am duly vindicated. This is the green, and it also comes in brown. The prim cuffs come in 2 sizes, and the prim bottom has 3 sizes. And the hood is to die for. I wish there was an option for it to be covering the head, too, like her Rainy Day rain coat has. I’m wearing it with the cigarette pants and Tesla’s Analise Boots.

I liked the coat just as well without the prim attachments. I think it’d be great for a quick canter through the meadows when I don’t need a more formal riding habit. So, I donned my riding boots, also from adamneve (Damen is my boot guru), and my new riding gloves from Savvy?, and I’m all set to go. Giddayup!

Whoa! Sorry, still don’t have a horse, but since it’s Halloween, I hoped I could get away with riding on my broom.
Bettie’s shop is worth a look. Lots of other cute things inside. She’s one of our Japanese designers who only gets better and better.

The skirt is one of mine, Aras. I don’t sell them, just have fun making them.
