We’re celebrating our Labor Day Holiday in the US today, and I’d like to take this opportunity to applaud the work of all of our designers, those gallant ladies and gents who strain their eyes and risk carpal tunnel syndrome to keep us supplied with fodder for our shopping addictions.
Betty Doyle, under her Drusilla’s Delight brand, worked us a treat with a lovely Victorian day dress, Catharine. Work out some way to get to her Ingenue store to see her great new vintage hair releases.
It’s been all work and no play for Nyte Caligari of Nyte’n'Day. New store open, filled with new goodies, skins, little skirts, sweaters, tank tops, and THE cutest jeans jacket I’ve ever seen. Neferia Abel, Ivalde, must have worked herself into the ground for us. She released 6 great outfits, over a wide range of eras and styles. how cute it this striped mini! While looking at the new releases inside the door of the store, pop downstairs for yet another huge skin release, too.

Marleen Vaughan, Marly’s, worked her arse off and did her version of a Mary Quant mini dress, and named it Louna Lollipop. Lux Yao, Amaretto, worked wonders with black and white. Rebecca is a turtle necked baby doll style, while Lillianne is an off the shoulder sophisticated sheath. Both dresses have a high fashion look to them. She also has several new shapes, if yours doesn’t work for you any more. Ginny Talamasca, Last Call, must have worked up a head of steam doing her Catwalk Collection II. Three of the collection are lovely gowns.
Roslin Petion, Tete a Pied, gives us the works with her Calendar Girl: Septembre release. A cute outfit, in choice of 3 colors, with a new vivant skin to match each. Nephilaine Protagonist, PixelSpa, announced the site of this new store, and worked in the release of 8 new makeup sets.
I like to mention quality work when I find it. I stumbled on Carryn Concord’s Tickled Pink, in my SL-wide quest for a particular hairstyle. Her hair is wonderful. I took home several demos and loved every one. She also does jewelry, and her shoes look great, too. Unfortunately, she has no blog and only her shoes are on slex. These are her Stiletto sneakers, if you like to look good when you work out.

Fallingwater Cellardoor, Shiny Things, did the dirty work for us with her sculpted prims and came up with a soft pair of boots she named Comfy. Stephen Lightworker, RealSKIN, offers LIVID a goth skin in her Darkness line. See her new Drow, and Fairy skins in the store.
Slightly out of my blog’s purpose, but because I can, I want to put in a plug for an event I’ve been helping to plan, sponsored by the Second Life Library and Book Island. To celebrate the library’s opening of the Writers’ Block Cafe and Bar on Book Island, Letters from Beyond is a tribute to the gothic novel. Saturday, Sept. 8, from 3-6pm SLT, brings a Goth fashion show featuring Raven Pennyfeather’s Rfyre, and Kaia Ennui’s Nocturnal Threads. Saur Holt’s Passionate Neko Dreams will have live mannequins, and there’ll be a DJ for dancing, with gothic novel costume prizes, a scavenger hunt, and fireworks. A sneak preview, below, shows Rfyre’s Uasal (ice), an Elizabethan dream gown, complete with hair.

Now I just couldn’t resist showing you the blue one. This is perfect for those who are roleplaying the period. There is a black lace modesty panel that can be worn, but I’m not, so I didn’t. And just look at the boots!

Antonia Marat, Artilleri, has a cropped shirt, high waisted pants, and great new glasses for us. RavenLynn Templar, Liquid Velvet Studios, worked up a sweat this week with new shapes, lenses, and is cooling off by taking a dip in one of her new bikini sets. Check out her site and store for info on how you can get involved in the SL Toys for Tots campaign, Kitties for Kiddies. I’ve one of their milk cartons out front of my Barn.
Shai Delacroix, Casa del Shai, has worked miracles for you guys returning to campuses. Her Greek Boys outfits, cord jackets, knit sweaters, shirt, ties are all designed to make you the best dressed guy in SL, too. Ladies, check out her new trench coat collection. Works for me. Six Kennedy, GuRL 6, has expanded the men’s department into it’s own 2 floor store, and plans to fill it.
Sachi Vixen, Adam n Eve blogged they’ve been hard at work on their new store. When it opens in a week or 2, there’ll be free hair, lots of new skins, shapes, a new hair section, and over 60 pair of wonderful new eyes . The lake shade is so gorgeous, that it convinced me to give up my old eye color.
That’s the whole works, and,
signing out for now, I’m…
